Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital, is a city rich in culture, history, and spirituality. Known for its ancient temples, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and bustling markets, it offers travelers a unique blend of tradition and modernity. Explore iconic landmarks like Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and the historic Durbar Square for an unforgettable experience.
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Our representative will greet you pleasantly at the airport when you arrive in Kathmandu. Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, is located in the midst of the Kathmandu Valley, a region of great political and cultural importance. After that, you’ll be driven to your hotel so you may check in.

Your morning will start with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, a revered Hindu location. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, approximately 5 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu, is this well-known temple complex devoted to Lord Pashupatinath. With temples, ashrams, and inscriptions that date back centuries along the holy river, it is one of the holiest Hindu temples, drawing large numbers of pilgrims and being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You will then go to Boudhanath, the most revered Buddhist shrine in Nepal, which is renowned for its enormous stupa and is the destination for pilgrims and worshippers. You will then continue on to Patan, commonly known as Lalitpur or the “City of Beauty.”

Patan, which is divided from Kathmandu by the Bagmati River, is well-known for its historic buildings and the valley’s most impressive Durbar Square, which is home to the most temples. The Tibetan Refugee Center, a gathering spot for the Tibetan community in the valley and a fantastic place to buy exquisite Tibetan carpets, is also located here.

The “Monkey Temple,” Swayambhunath, with its golden spire, prayer flags, and breathtaking vistas of the Kathmandu Valley, is the last stop on your itinerary. Those who ascend the stairs to this sacred hilltop location are guarded by the famous eyes of Buddha, which peer out from the stupa.

(Note: The sightseeing tour mentioned above is planned to begin no later than six hours after the car gets to the hotel.)

You will travel to Chandragiri Hills this morning, which are 2,551 meters above sea level and roughly 17 kilometers southwest of the heart of Kathmandu. Chandragiri provides a magnificent escape into nature with its breathtaking views of the entire Kathmandu Valley covered in lush foliage and its expansive views of the Himalayan range from Annapurna to Everest.

You will take a cable car (INR 800 per person, payable directly) up to Chandragiri Hills after driving to Thankot from your accommodation. This gondola lift, which opened in 2016, provides a picturesque climb to the peak along a 2.4 km (9,095 foot) journey.

After that, you’ll travel to Thamel, the busy tourist district of Kathmandu, which is well-known for its lively ambiance and diverse selection of stores, eateries, and local customs.

(Note: The maximum duration for this sightseeing excursion is six hours following the vehicle’s arrival at the hotel.)

You will have a picturesque 1.5-hour trip to Nagarkot, which is 35 kilometers east of Kathmandu, today. Nagarkot, which is 2,175 meters above sea level, is well known for its expansive vistas of the main Himalayan peaks, including Mount Everest. It’s a well-liked location for seeing beautiful sunrises and sunsets. In Nagarkot, you will spend the night in a hotel.

You will make a stop at Bhaktapur, which is 17 kilometers from Kathmandu, along the way. Bhaktapur, which is well-known for its intact medieval atmosphere, is still thriving thanks to ancient crafts like weaving and ceramics. The Palace of Fifty-Five Windows, the Golden Gate, and the magnificent five-story pagoda-style Nyatapola Temple are just a few of the city’s architectural wonders.

(Note: The maximum duration for this sightseeing excursion is six hours following the vehicle’s arrival at the hotel.)

There will be some free time before your departure because the morning will be laid back. You will be taken to the airport for your subsequent flight closer to the scheduled departure time. Have a safe trip!
