You will be welcomed and given assistance when you arrive at the airport. Continue on to Kandy from Chilaw, stopping at Munishwaram, a noteworthy location thought to predate the Ramayana. According to legend, when Lord Rama came here, a temple devoted to Lord Shiva had already been built. Legend has it that during his conflict with King Ravana, Lord Rama sought the counsel of Lord Shiva after being plagued by a malicious shadow known as a Brahmaasthi Dosham. When he arrived in Munishwaram, his flying Vimana stopped vibrating, and he became aware that the Dosham was no longer pursuing him.To get rid of the Dosham, Lord Shiva told Lord Rama to install and pray at four sacred Shiva Lingams. Munishwaram was the location of the first installation. In the evening, you will also go to Kandy to see the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic. Savor dinner and spend the night in Kandy.
Day 2 – Nuwara Eliya (Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, Approx. 2.5 hours journey)
Start your trip to Nuwara Eliya after breakfast at the hotel. While traveling, stop by the breathtaking Botanical Garden, a botanical haven with more than 300 types of orchids, palm trees, spices, and medicinal plants. A veritable wonder of nature, this 147-acre garden welcomes more than 1.2 million visitors each year. Additionally, you will visit the Sri Hanuman Temple. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, also referred to as the “City of Lights.” This quaint hamlet, surrounded by verdant hills and tea plantations, experiences year-round springtime weather.Known as “Little England,” Nuwara Eliya was a British favorite hill station that they tried to turn into an English town. An 18-hole golf course, a horse racetrack, hill clubs, and an ancient brick post office all recall the spirit of England. Have dinner and spend the night in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 3 – Nuwara Eliya (Visit Ramayana-related Sites)
Visit the Ramayana-related sights in Nuwara Eliya after breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Sita Amman Temple, a noteworthy location where you may find old statues of Rama and Sita, on your route to the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. You will be captivated by the temple’s remarkable architecture and the representations of its history. Next, go to the Divurumpola Temple, which is still a hallowed location for vows and oaths and where Sita completed her Agni Pariksha. As you continue your journey, stop by Ella, a highland town with three important Ramayana sites. One is the Ravana Ella Cave, which is close to Ella Falls and is thought to be the location where Ravana held Sita. There is a rock pool nearby where Sita is supposed to have taken a bath. Visit Gayathri Peedam to cap off the day. Have dinner and spend the night in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 4 – Colombo (Nuwara Eliya – Kitulgala – Colombo Approx: 4 ½ hours)
